What is Islands of Elements?

Islands of Elements is an online forum in which authors gather to write stories about the world of Fou Lu.

The setting of Fou Lu is high fantasy, though there are rudimentary technological concepts in some areas of the world, such as gunpowder, muskets, steam power and trains. Details about various aspects of the world, such as its mythology, the magic, history, and the nations of Fou Lu are detailed on the main site.

To be accepted into the membership of IoE, you will be asked to submit a small story, poem, or other form of writing about one of the aspects of Fou Lu detailed on the site. After reviewing your submission, you will be free to write anything at all you want about Fou Lu, though your story will not always be taken seriously, expecially if the characters it features are godlike beings who destroy all who oppose them.

That is why we have World Creators, a class of writer selected by the admins of IoE. World Creators are the writers who make the major changes and shape the future of Fou Lu. Depending on the quality of your writing, and your understanding of limitations, you could become a World Creator as well. Their stories are the ones that other writers will react to.

In the end, however, Islands of elements is all about the fantasy world of Fou Lu, and the people who enjoy writing about it.
