Welcome to Islands of Elements, a world of magic and wonder. Here you will find a high fantasy realm for roleplayers, creative writers, artists, and fantasy lovers alike. Our table of play is our forum and our technique is often called "play-by-post," although we use the term loosely. Here, we aren’t focused so much on the format of how we play. Our focus is the content itself. We are here for talented and upcoming authors to dive into something new and interactive. In order to achieve that goal, we have set up a system where anyone who joins can either write a story by themselves or with company. The stories can be anything to whimsical to world-changing.

While searching through the site for the very first time, it is safe to assume that you might be overwhelmed with the content already written. Don’t get frustrated, as it’s a normal thing to happen… and that’s why we –meaning the members already on the site- are here to help. Start with the simple things, like your character's race and the city they live in and go from there. But if you have something else in mind, like a new idea for a city or organization, or even a religion, by all means create it. Otherwise, if you have any questions about what is important and what’s not, or how your story and characters should be started or anything else under the sun, don’t hesitate to ask us. We’re not going to bite your head off if you ask questions. In fact, the more questions you ask, the better. We would much rather see curious newcomers than know-it-alls, as this world is much different than any other on the internet.

Now let’s talk about what your limits are in our roleplaying world. There really aren’t a whole lot. We try not to put boundaries around your abilities, but rather have you do that to yourself. If you like to write about one or two characters in a story with just yourself, you are free to do so. If you’re more comfortable with writing shorter posts with a few members on the site, we’ve adjusted our forums so that can happen, too! But what about if you’re just a fantasy lover with little to no interest in writing stories on your own? You are free to join the site and give ideas and contributions to the world or review other fantasy stories already on the site. What if you don’t think you’re a very good writer, but you would like to show off your talent with a paint brush? By all means, paint! Or draw, or use your Photoshop skills!

Whether you like to create epic, world changing stories or just writing for the fun of it, you’re welcome to join. Here at Islands of Elements, we have attempted to create as deep of a world as J.R.R Tolkien while leaving plenty of room for you to create even more.
