We used to have a little of pointless, mind-numbing rules that overcomplicated the site.
Well, not anymore. I never really enjoyed having to limit the users, but on the other side of the
spectrum it’s also necessary to put some sort of guidelines down. They’re mostly common sense and relate
mainly to being kind to the other members of the forum. Here’s a short list of things that we
suggest:

1. When joining the site, please do not be afraid to ask questions. We know all of the information on the world can be an incredibly daunting task to take on, so let us take a little bit of the burden off of your shoulders. Just join the Forum and ask in the appropriate area.
2. Grammar. We are, for the most part, a creative writing site. It quickly becomes an annoyance to all of us when we see things like l33t speak and things in that nature. If you have any questions about grammar, like I said before, please do not be afraid to ask. We’re not going to attack you for having a question.
3. Be patient. Some of the story approvers actually have busy lives, so if your story doesn’t get reviewed in the first few hours, please be patient with us. I can promise you that we will get to it as soon as we possibly can, but things happen in the real world that sometimes hinder how quickly that happens.
4. Be courteous to others. This is a simple request that falls along the lines of common sense and respect. Please do not take characters from other members unless you’ve already asked them, and don’t join stories in the Crimson or Azure Storybooks unless you’ve already spoken with those that are currently writing in them. It’s just the polite thing to do!
5. And lastly, enjoy yourself. This site was created in order for writers to let loose and have fun. If you’re not having a good time, discuss it with one of the administrators (or me, Atma) and we’ll see what we can do in order to make this site a more pleasant one for you.
If you have any questions about the rules, please join the forums and Private Message me, Atma, or you can email me at atma@islandsofelements.com
