The Elven uprising
For long years the war between Volkain and Dio raged unchecked. Humans were gathered by either god and sent forth to do their bidding. Kingdoms crumbled and fell and rose anew amidst this torrent of hatred. Brotherly love somewhat set aside for this period, the Gods chose to create their own races as Mankind’s numbers were simply too few after the feuding had come so far. Thus were born Dwarf and Elf. These races were born unto Fou Lu with a natural hatred of one another and so they warred constantly. However, not long after their creation and the beginning of the Elf/Dwarf war, Althena stepped in and put an end to the fighting of the godly brothers. Unaware of the war’s end, the two races continued to duke it out but with much less fervor than before. Dwarves focused on making small, tactical strikes on key Elven economic sites and the Elves mostly made Dwarven pin cushions whenever the time was fitting.
In their creation, the Dwarven race assumed some of the instinctual affinities of Dio. Rather than continue to labor at a fruitless war, a new gem caught the eye of the short fellows. A gem indeed. Discovering their unreasonable knack for mining and blacksmithing, the Dwarves chose to sink into the dark innards of the mountains, exhuming metal and making great advancements in metallurgy and masonry. As a result of their withdrawl, the Elves had free reign of the world for the most part. With Humans fairly devastated by the conflicts, the long-eared fellows took their chance and stretched their willowy arms across most of the world. A powerful racial kingdom would ensue. Through the duration of this, the Ogrin were basically neutral, since they were created only just before Althena put an end to the fight of the two deities. Mercu was none too pleased with thus, but held his peace, choosing the safe side of the coin rather than the underside of Althena’s mighty boot.
